Vegetable oil: Take a few drops of vegetable oil in your psalms and rub it well on your feet.

Black Tea: Boil two black tea bags in 4 cups of water, dilute the solution in 1/2 bowl of water.Soak your feet in the solution for 30 minutes. Do this on daily basis for one week.

Salt and Water: salt and water has been used for ages in soothing sore throat. Salt acts as a mild antiseptics, draws water out of the mucous membrane.Mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water. This will kill the bacteria and cleanse the throat of phlegm.Gargle 3 to 4 times daily.

Clove Tea: Cloves have antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that helps to soothe the sore throat.Add 1 to 3 teaspoon of powered cloves into 1 cup of  warm water, mix and gargle.

Tomatoes Juice:Tomatoes is filled with lots of lycopene that can help to soothe sore throat faster. Mix 1/2 cup of Tomatoes juice with 1/2 cup of warm water.Add 1/2 teaspoon of pepper sauce. Mix all together and gargle with the mixture.

 Licorice Roots: Licorice roots have been use for ages to soothe sore throat. Gargling with Licorice solution is an effective ways to get rid of sore throat. Mix 1 teaspoon of licorice syrup with 1 cup of warm water and gargle.

Peppermint: The menthol in peppermint opens the nasal passage and help to soothe the throat. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 peppermint teabags, let it steep for 5 minutes and gargle with the cooled solution 3 times a day.

Breast Cancer is a cancer that develops from the breast tissue, it occurs almost entirely in women but men can get it too. This is the second most common cancer in women and most cases occur in women that are over the age of 50 years.Early detection is the key to surviving this disease, and if it is diagnosed early,their is a good chance of survival.The more advance the cancer is ,the less likely that the treatment will be curative.About 5-10% of Breast Cancer are due to inherited gene from parents, while 85-90% of Breast Cancer are due to genetic abnormalities that happens as a result of old aging process.


The most common Breast Cancer develops in the cells from the lining of the milk ducts and the lobules that supply the  ducts with milk. Cancer developing from the ducts are Ductal Carcinomas and those developing from the lobules are lobular carcinomas.Staying healthy, maintaining a normal weight,being physically active, limiting your intake of alcohol , reduce your risk of developing Breast Cancer.

Breast Awareness
By performing monthly Breast exams you will be familiar with your breast and notice any changes as soon as they occur. Knowing what your breast look like,feeling and checking them regularly, can help you detect abnormalities quickly.
  • Always look and feel your Breast
  • Report any changes to your Doctor
  • Attend Breast Screening if you are over years of age
The following are what you should be looking for when doing the Breast Exams:
  • Lumps or thickening of Breast Tissue
  • Continuous pain in the Breast or Armpit
  • One Breast becoming larger than the other

                                                   How to do the Breast Exam

  • In the Shower: (i) lift your right arm over your head and use your left hand to examine your right breast. with the pads of your fingers,feel around the entire breast area in circular motion.Feel for any lumps or thickening tissue
  • (ii) Bring your arms down and repeat the examination on your left Breast



  •   In Front of the Mirror: Stand in front of the mirror and visually inspect your Breast with your hands at your sides.Next raise your arms high over your head, look for any changes in size,shapes, or if their is any swelling or change in nipple. After that,rest your palms on your hips  and press firmly to flex your chest muscles,.Look at both breast carefully and thoroughly, and report any changes to your doctor.

  •  Lying Down: Lying down on your back with a pillow beneath your right shoulder,rest your right arm behind your head .using your left hand , move the pads of your fingers around your right breast and feel the entire area around gently in small circles covering the entire breast and your armpit.Squeeze the nipples to check for discharge. Repeat this on your left breast. if you notice any abnormalities, contact your doctor.

  • Gender- Breast Cancer is more common in women.The National Cancer Institute Estimates that over 190,000 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer annually

  • Family History:Having  a family history of breast cancer, especially women with a mother,sister or daughter who has or have had breast cancer, double the risk.
  • Not having children: Women who don't have children or got pregnant over the age of 35 years may have greater risk of developing Breast Cancer.
  • Obesity: Weight gain in adulthood and excess body fat around the waist may increase your risk of developing Breast Cancer.
  • Heavy Drinking: Heavy Alcohol drinking has been link to increased risk in developing Breast Cancer.
  • Lack of Physical Activity:Physical inactivity has begin link to increase risk of developing cancer.Regular exercise  seven hours a week may reduce your risk.

Diabetes Mellitus(DM) popularly called diabetes is a disease in which the blood glucose level in the body is too high.This come about either because the rate of insulin production in the body is inadequate or because the cells cannot respond properly to the insulin or both. in other words the body is unable to properly use and store glucose( a form of sugar) and this cause the glucose to pile up in the bloodstream, thereby causing your blood glucose (also referred to as blood sugar)to rise too high.


Diabetes can occur in anybody and people who have close relatives with the disease are likely to have the disease.Other risk factor of developing diabetes includes obesity,physical inactivity,high cholesterol,high blood pressure.



Types of Diabetes:The following are types of Diabetes

Type 1: This results from the inability of the body to produce insulin.This normally manifest in young children and is unrelated to lifestyle choices.

Type 2: This results from insulin resistance a condition in which the cells fails to respond to insulin properly or the body doesn't use the insulin properly.This is generally linked to poor health choices, overeating,lack of exercise and bad lifestyle habits.

Gestational Diabetes: This occurs in pregnant women without previous history of developing high blood glucose level. This tend to clear up or greately improve after birth.
